Daniel is the President of First Group Insurance. He lives in Sterling with his wife, Lori (Cook) and four children, Blake, Kipton, Harper, and Graham. They enjoy spending time with family that live in the area as well as attending the many sporting and musical events the children participate in.
Daniel began his professional career as an educator, teaching and coaching in the Valley Center Public School district for 11 years. While there, he worked at the elementary and secondary levels. He graduated from Baker University in 2007 with a Master of Science degree in School Leadership.
Following his time in education, Daniel became the managing partner at Eden’s Auto Sales in Valley Center. While at Eden’s Auto, he helped grow and develop the company into one of the top producing car dealerships in Sedgwick County selling between 400-500 vehicles a year.
With First Group Insurance, Daniel looks forward to building relationships with new and current clients and assisting with their insurance needs.
Christa began her professional career with Farm Bureau Insurance in 1987, getting licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health at 18 years old. In 1989, she went to work for 12 years with the State Farm claims Hutchinson office. She then transitioned to be a stay-at-home mother and also operate the family Plumbing business for 15 years. Her desire to return to her career lead her to KFSA, now Pro Value Insurance, for 10 successful years. While there, she became a Certified Insurance Service Representative as she worked in the Commercial and Personal Lines Departments. Her small-town roots brought her back to Sterling in 2023 where she now proudly works for First Group Insurance as Commercial Account Manager/Agent in the Sterling, Lyons and Hutchinson offices. She thoroughly enjoys building relationships with clients and helping with all of their insurance needs.
Raised in Hutchinson and rural Nickerson, Christa graduated from Nickerson High School. She enjoys her hometown Hutchinson community events - most importantly the Kansas State Fair - and has a history of many safety educational activites in her State Farm years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at home, the gym and traveling. She loves her time with her mother, son, family, pets and all of her social fun with many friends.
Katie began her insurance career in 2008 as a State Farm agent in Hutchinson, KS. After 10 years with State Farm, she moved on to become an independent agent. She helped build a new agency, and after 8 years there she joined First group Insurance.
She currently lives in Hutchinson. She has 3 children: Bryan, Melanie, and Cali. You will find her at their many Trinity Catholic Jr/Sr High sports and extra-curricular activities.
In her free time Katie enjoys traveling with her kids and dogs and going to the gym.
Sheila began her career in 1996 with a general practice attorney in Hutchinson, managing debt collection cases. She later joined an insurance defense law firm as a Certified Legal Assistant, providing litigation support to multiple attorneys.
Her growing interest in insurance led her to become an agent and owner with a well-known captive insurance company in 2009, where she built a successful agency before retiring. Today, Sheila brings that extensive experience to her role as a Licensed Sales Producer with First Group Insurance. She is committed to delivering tailored, high-quality, and affordable insurance solutions within the independent market.
Raised on a wheat and cattle farm near Hoisington, Sheila is a graduate of Fort Hays State University. She is active in the local community through the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, Everfull Board of Directors, Holy Cross Catholic Church, and other local organizations.
Outside of work, Sheila enjoys gardening, cooking, attending local theater and sporting events, and spending time at the lake. She is the proud mother of a son attending FHSU and has two Labrador Retrievers who complete her family.

Kent started his insurance career with Farm Bureau Insurance in 1977 and came to Sterling in 1981 to manage First Group Insurance.
Kent has obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor, and the Registered Financial Consultant professional designations. He is also a National Faculty Instructor for The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, and teaches insurance education courses all over the United States.
In addition to teaching, Kent works with large commercial and business accounts and with financial products.
Kent also does expert witness work.
